Catlett & Company, Inc. has been doing business as Trigg, Catlett & Associates since 1992 when Lance M. Trigg, MAI retired. Prior to this time, Lance Trigg, MAI founded Trigg Appraisal Services in 1950. In 1981 Frank A. Catlett, MAI, SRA [RZ531 (FL), A 7385 (NC)] joined the firm and the name changed to Trigg, Catlett & Associates, Inc. As a tribute to our long standing involvement in the community and Lance M. Trigg, being a familiar and reputable name, the firm now operates under the name of Trigg, Catlett & Associates.
This firm and its predecessor have enjoyed a long history of providing appraisal and brokerage services to not only the Tampa Bay area but most parts of Florida as well as North Carolina.
Lance M. Trigg's major emphasis was his involvement in eminent domain, working on projects such as Interstate 95, Interstate 4, Interstate 75, urban renewal and waterfront projects, as well as residential development projects.
Frank A. Catlett, MAI, SRA came to the firm in 1981 after having been employed by the Flagship Bank of Tampa as its Senior Real Estate Underwriter that followed his graduate studies in Real Estate and Urban Planning at the University of Florida as well as Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU and his active duty in the Army and Florida National Guard attaining the rank of Captain.
The firm presently has three appraisers on staff, one independent contractor as well as two administrative staff. Frank A. Catlett, MAI, SRA has fostered the education and development of nine other MAIs over the course of time and trained a number of associates, three of which are currently pursuing their MAI designations.
Trigg, Catlett & Associates has been recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the top 25 real estate appraising firms for 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Frank A. Catlett, MAI, SRA is also an approved instructor for the Appraisal Institute and qualified to teach Principles, Procedures, Site Valuation & Cost Approach, Sales Comparison Approach, Income Approaches I & II as well as Finance, Statistics & Valuation Modeling. Also of note, he was chosen as the University of Florida’s Geography Department Alumni of the Year in 2007.
